What is motivation?
Did you know there are many words used to describe it? Here are a few: boost, encouragement, goad, impetus, incentive, incitement, instigation, momentum, impulse, provocation, spur, stimulant, stimulus, just to name a few.
As we face the message before us it is good to contemplate those words, for all too often, motivation to see souls saved is eroded from our lives until we no longer care. Yet, Jesus cared in John 4 and He still cares. This may be just the right time for you to hear this message. It certainly was for the disciples who really were not motivated to see these people before them saved. So it is our Lord sought to breath His motivation into their hearts. May it be so with us today!
John 4:35 "Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!
John 4:36 "And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.
John 4:37 "For in this the saying is true: 'One sows and another reaps.'
John 4:38 "I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labors."
