As the writer of Hebrews had discussed the ceremonial laws were parables so we could understand things after Christ came to reform them, he now spoke specifically about Christ and His role of High Priest. The tabernacle was just a parable of the true tabernacle. One that was made without hands unlike the first one that the Israelites spent months constructing. The tabernacle that is separate from this creation, so it requires a better sacrifice than the blood sacrifices of goats and calves. It required the unblemished blood which could only come from the perfect High Priest, Jesus Christ. He was able to enter into the eternal tabernacle, because He obtained an eternal redemption. The blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer could only clean the flesh. It could not clean the conscience. After doing the work of the sacrifices, the one making the sacrifice still had guilt in his conscience. It is only when we lay down our works and accept the finished work of Jesus Christ can our conscience be purged so we can serve the living God. Christ became the Mediator of the new covenant because the first covenant only produced condemnation, but the new covenant produces eternal life.
