The Ephesian church's faith was centered on the person of the Holy Spirit, Paul prays that the Spirit of God break light on them concerning all the truths of verses 3 to 14. These truths can never be a reality or experienced until we have a deep, deep, intimate walk with God. Pride and self-sufficiency will keep us from having this intimacy. The glory of God in us, that is Christ, is God's inheritance. Christ living His life through us is our inheritance. Paul prays that we would know the fullness of the inheritance we already have. Do we know we have it and do we know what we really have?
