Having gone to Galilee, as instructed, Peter becomes impatient that the Lord has not yet arrived and decides to go fishing. After a night of fruitless work, the Lord arrives and asks the men, "you haven't caught anything to eat, have you?" Having prevented their success, the Lord then commands the men to let their nets down on the other side of the boat and they catch a net full. The point of the episode is that the Lord was in sovereign control of their failure and their success. This lesson has many applications to all Christians.
