1 ¶ And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said to him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. “and it came to pass” is a phrase that is used over and over in the bible. Remember when crises occur, they will pass. This word “tempt” in the Hebrew should be translated into “test”. God doesn't tempt men into evil, but He does test men. 2 And he said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of. Abraham had another son named Ishmael from a bondswoman. There is a difference between a son from his wife and a son from a slave. Isaac is very special to Abraham. God gives Abraham a real test. He makes Abraham wait 100 years to get the child, and then instructs him to sacrifice his only child. This is a real tough test. What would you do?
