With this sermon Berean Baptist Church began a tradition of preaching directly to the children of our church every several months. Our basis for doing so is Psalm 34:11 which says "Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord." In this first children's sermon the importance of children worshiping God is set forth in the context of the Lord Jesus cleansing the Temple in Jerusalem. Children are exhorted to not minimize the value God places upon their worship of Him, and parents are reminded of their responsibility to teach their children to call the Lord's Sabbath a delight and not to forsake the assembling of ourselves together as is the manner of some.
