THE STORY OF SCRIPTURE BEGINS WITH THE CREATION OF ALL THINGS 1 ¶ In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. 3 ¶ Then God said, "Let there be light"; and there was light. Genesis 1:1-3
This Lord's Day Pastor Randy is beginning a Reformation Day series on The Basics of Bible History, a survey of the major events that shape our understanding of the Scriptures. All of the history found in the Scriptures (every page) fits into this unfolding story of Redemption and are on the way to the final conclusion of God's purpose and plan. Today we will begin to studying Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." The fact of God's creation shapes how we see ourselves and everything in the world. If you believe Genesis 1:1 you are set to believe every other words and verse in the Scriptures.
HOWEVER, if you doubt, question or disbelieve Genesis 1:1, you will most likely doubt, question and disbelieve the rest of Scripture. Genesis 1 is the foundation on which the rest of Scripture depends. Trust the only Eye Witness!
