Last night I saw a picture from Hudson Wisconsin. The Hudson River and city of Hudson is on the border of Wisconsin and Minnesota, north of Highway 29, off of Interstate 94 on the way to Minneapolis. Almi and I stopped in Hudson when we were waiting for Josh to arrive back in the states from his summer in Kenya. It was a pretty little tourist town, just a bit bigger than our town. The Hudson River runs alone the northwest side of it. We sat and walked in a park on this river. The picture I saw last night was from this park. In the picture you looked across the dark waters lit by a couple of street lights and in the darkness across the river, you saw a horizon that was glowing orange. Minneapolis was burning and the glow of the fires was filling the sky as it reflected off the clouds. It was an incredible image to capture on film.
We see sights like this and we are forced to stop and think. We wonder at the evil in the world. We hear reports of good and bad from both sides in the riot and we have no answers. We come to church and we look at a passage of scripture that is an introduction to a book and we wonder more. What can a book written almost 2,000 years ago have for us today? How does it help our world? Does it have real answers? I am here to tell you today that the answer isn't just yes, but a resounding yes, a thundering yes, a yes from God! Join us as we look at Galatians 1:3-5 today and see Paul's wish for the Galatians.
