King Jehu of Israel constitutes a theological dilemma. On one hand he is commended for eliminating Baal worship from the kingdom of Israel. But in another part of the Bible he is condemned for "the bloodshed of Jezreel" (Hosea 1:4). How do we explain this? 1-Jehu's undue delight and enjoyment (vv.12-14). 2-Jehu's pride (vv.15-16). 3-Jehu's deception (vv.18-28). 4-Jehu's lack of devotion to the Lord (vv.29-31). Like Jehu, the Lord Jesus Christ came to do the work of God, but unlike Jehu, He did it without pride and deception and with a heart totally devoted to God.
