If the Earth was billions of years old, why do we not find more sediment on the ocean floor? Natural processes deposit about 26 billion tons of sediment a year and only five to ten percent is removed through plate subduction. If the Earth were billions of years old we should expect to find over sixty miles of sediment on the ocean floor. Instead we only have half a mile. About 450 million tons of salt pours into the ocean every year. About 27% escapes the ocean every year through natural processes. The oceans could have easily reached their present amount in about 62 million years. Why isn't there more salt in the oceans? Today we are going to discuss more reasons that the Earth cannot be billions of years old. Join us as we learn to defend the Bible and build our young earth position.
