"We exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children." 1 Thessalonians 2:11
This sermon is not for the timid. But it is for every man serious about becoming an effective leader in his home. Pastor Martin explores Paul's relationship with the Thessalonian believers as a model of fatherhood.
This first of two messages examines the need for sensitive love and consistent godliness as essential principles of effective fatherhood. Highly recommended!

Spiritual Integrity I simply cannot tell you how many times I have listened to, and been challenged by this faithful proclamation of God's truth by such an able preacher. I make it a point to present every new father in our fellowship with a copy on disc and pray that God will keep it's contents open before them while they enjoy the privilege that effective fatherhood can be.

Nothing Quite Like It Even though I have the humble privilege of being this dear man's neighbor, computer tutor, and good friend, his preaching still rips my heart to ribbons, and lays me in the dust crying out, Oh God, I am undone, I am undone. Please God give us a handful of preachers like this. Without a doubt Christ gives gifts to His church.

Great Sermon! This is a wonderful sermon, any man worth his salt should listen to this. Bother Martin's boldness and Spirit filled emotion made it truly a privilege to hear. I will do my best to get every man in my congregation to listen to it.

A must hear! I fear there are increasingly fewer reformed baptist ministers [and I am one] who would preach such a message. In such a day of confussion let us preach the truth plainly. This is "relevant" preaching [well before the term began an in thing]. If this was truth in 1981 who or what has changed? Has man changed? Have our children changed? Has the Bible changed? Let us return to the old paths. Let us preach the gospel and its implications plainly. May God help us!

Shook me up!!!!!!!! This sermon stabbed me in the heart. I wept through much of the second half. It exposed me for the selfish, self-centered hypocrite that I am. I recommend this sermon very highly. Thank God that there are still a few Pators preaching the truth.
