We live in a day and age where we are not only connected with each other, we are hyper-connected, and 14th century author and my personal namesake Geoffrey Chaucer hit it right on the head when he wrote that 'familiarity breeds contempt'. Add to that the fact that we are also in the end times, where we see the spirit of Antichrist rising, and that can be a recipe for disaster, even for the born again, blood-bought Christian man or woman. The spirit of Jezebel has a way of sneaking up on us, here's how to handle it.
"But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up." 1 Kings 21:25 (KJB)
On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we are looking at someone in the bible named Jezebel, and she is the original nasty woman. She has a spirit attached to her that stirs people up, and provokes them to do evil, so much so that we see her also used in Revelation as a type of spiritual wickedness thousands of years after her death. All through the bible we see many people who temporarily had the spirit of Jezebel on them, it affects men and women equally. The spirit of Jezebel wreaked much havoc with King David, Saul, Ahab, and many more. |
