The Davidic Covenant was the next major covenant in Israel's history following the covenant at Sinai. It was set within the Sinai (Mosaic) Covenant, but it presupposed and drew upon all of the preceding covenants and so also God's pledge to Eve in Eden. As Torah, the Davidic Covenant advanced God's revelation of the kingdom He promised to Abraham and initiated at Sinai with the Israelite theocracy. In particular, this covenant connected God's kingdom with David, and specifically a son to come from him. In that royal offspring, God was going to establish David's house, throne and kingdom forever.
