Servanthood is the bedrock of any Christain church. When Christains forget that we are servants, set free from our sins to live out the remainder of our days in humble submission to a Master who came to serve and not to be served, we've lost touch with our true identity. To prevent this from happening, God has ordained that there be "deacons" appointed in every Christain congregation. These humble Christ-followers are models of servanthood chosen from among the people to serve as examples to the whole congregation of the joy and honor of serving in the Household of God.
