The cryptic response of the Lord Jesus Christ to the question of the disciples as to where the people he mentioned would be taken on the day of the revelation of the Son of Man was meant to emphasize the somber reality of impending judgment. Those who derided Noah's preaching were taken away to judgment, and the judgment came very suddenly. Those who mocked the warnings of the destruction of Sodom were taken away to judgment, and again there was a sudden aspect to that judgment. So it will be at the end, the Lord Jesus was warning. Some will be taken and others will be left. Those who will be taken are taken to judgment. Only those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ will be left.
