We got something on, but we need to have the right spiritual garment on. Paul tells us here what are the right kind of clothes. We need to start off with mercy, we didn't deserve the mercy He gave us, nor do the people we extend it to. Kindness makes for soft cloth. Humbleness is easy on the outside, but ‘of mind' is on the inside. Meekness or humility and longsuffering or patience go hand in hand. Both take great effort to get comfortable in but in the long run both are worth the while. Why? Because we are going to have to put up with some things from some people we won't like. Forgiveness is a hard robe to put on someone but so warm to receive. All of this is bound together by love. We should so love because we are the elect, we are set apart, and beloved (much loved). And also we should dress up because God has forgiven us.
