WISDOM'S FINAL APPEAL: BEWARE OF ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES! 10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. 11 For through wisdom your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. 12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you; if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer." Proverbs 9:10-12 This Lord's Day Pastor Randy will continue our study of the Book of Proverbs. If you listen, learn, and remember Wisdom's words and do them, you will be safe from many troubles. The unstated contrast is that if you don't trouble and trials will befall, and ultimately destruction. Proverbs 9 is a chapter of practical Wisdom. Verses 10-12 conclude Wisdom's call. Why listen to anyone else? Why turn from the only source of knowledge and truth? These last verses are the application of all that Wisdom has said. She pleads with all who listen that they should do what She says. In the end there are only two options. You will listen, learn, and do what Wisdom says, or you will play the part of the fool… and earn the fool's reward. These are the only two options.
