Paul wrote heavily about rejoicing in the book of Philippians while in prison. In such a situation, the things we think are necessary for rejoicing are absent. God has given us His promises, and we are to set our hope on Him and His Word so that we have the anchor of our soul that we so desperately need. These are wonderful promises of the things He has in store for those who have been bought by the blood of Christ. These promises are there for us and will do for us what nothing else can do. Are we rejoicing in hope of the things He has given us forever, for our blessing now, regardless of what we are going through or will go through? Here we continue to look at our Lord Jesus Who is our hope. We are trying to see Him as He truly is in all His majesty and power and beauty so our hope may be intensified beyond where it presently is at.
