WISDOM'S PRACTICAL ADVICE ABOUT SCOFFERS 7 "He who corrects a scoffer gets shame for himself, And he who rebukes a wicked man only harms himself. 8 Do not correct a scoffer, lest he hate you; Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you. 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a just man, and he will increase in learning." Proverbs 9:7-9
This Lord's Day Pastor Randy will continue our study of the Book of Proverbs. If you listen, learn, and remember Wisdom's words and do them, you will be safe from many troubles. The unstated contrast is that if you don't trouble and trials will befall, and ultimately destruction. Proverbs 9 is a chapter full of practical Wisdom. How should we respond Wisdom and Her ways? How should we interact with others… especially those who Don't believe?
These last verses are the application of all that Wisdom has said. She pleads with all who listen that they should do what She says. In the end there are only two options. You will listen, learn, and do what Wisdom says, or you will play the part of the fool. These are the only two options.
