To Daniel the secret of the great King Nebuchadnezzar's dream was revealed—along with its inspired interpretation. The dream was described in terms of a statue, which represented the great kingdoms that would control the rulership of the world until the end, and its meaning stunned the tyrannical king! The greatest surprise, however, came at the very end of the dream. The final kingdom would be established by God Himself—"The Diamond Kingdom," which would never end. We can learn so many different types of lessons from this vital section of the Hebrew Scriptures. We come to understand much about the future kingdoms of the world, and thus learn Biblical truth about the nature of history and government. We even find that Daniel is akin to his ancient predecessor Joseph, who also cared for his nation from a position of power in a foreign land.
