This morning as we study Satan's temptation of Eve, we are going to note three schemes he employs.
He uses the same kind of schemes today on believers to tempt us to sin. If Adam and Eve – enjoying face to face fellowship with God, living in a perfect environment, could be tempted to sin do not think for one moment that any of us could not also be susceptible to the wiles of the devil. It is absolutely crucial for us to understand His ways so we will not sin against God. What are his schemes?
Satan's Schemes: 1) Satan Questions God's Goodness 2) Satan Challenges God's Word
Satan's initial question in v1 was designed to start Eve down the path of questioning God's Word. Scheme #3 -Satan Entices Our Desires Eve's Mistakes: 1) She Lingered and Listened when she should have left. Mistake #2 - She believed the devil's great lie. We are bombarded with the lies of the world. They promise pleasure, they promise excitement, they promise satisfaction, they promise peace – but it is all lies.
Commit to living by God's Word. Resolve to trust God and obey Him even when others around you choose the world.
