The St. Bartholomew's Day Massacre of the Huguenots and the later French Revolution were truly the rage of Antichrist. Some two million men, women and children of all ages were slaughtered. Christianity was mocked: A prostitute was enshrined in Notre Dame Cathedral as the 'Goddess of Reason' and made the object of orgiastic worship. A donkey was given the Lord's Supper. Sunday was abolished -- even speaking or writing the word was made illegal. Street and town names with Christian connotations were changed. Children could not be given Biblical names. All traces of Christianity were wiped away, replaced by atheism and terror.
It was humanism in full bloom.
