Topic: Three angels are mentioned by name in scripture: Michael, Gabriel, and Lucifer. Today we will talk about Lucifer. The name Lucifer means “shiny, full of light” so Lucifer must have been the most beautiful angel created. But he fell. He is now our #1 enemy, the one we must always be vigilant against. He is our adversary, so we must study him to see what he's capable of and what his plans are so we can fight against him and succeed. We'll talk about his beginning, what he's doing today, and his plans for the future.
Ezekiel 28:11-12: this verse changes topic from the earthly king of Tyrus to Satan. “Lamentation” means telling us something bad about someone. Seals up the sum = the king had all the looks, all the charm, everything he ever wanted, perfect in form and beauty. Vs.13: The individual that Ezekiel is talking about is covered in all the most precious stones that God created. Some of the Hebrew scholars think that this means that Lucifer was so great, so pretty, that he walked around with all the emeralds and gems, and the pipes and tabrets were built into his skin, so when he walked and moved he exuded music from his body. God calls Lucifer the anointed cherub that covereth, and he had access to the highest throne of God. Vs.14: Lucifer was in the Garden of Eden. Lucifer in his beautiful and perfect state ruled the earth for a while, until he fell (vs.15). Then God revamped the earth and put Man in charge of the world instead of Lucifer.
