We learn that it is likely that this child refers to both the Messiah and His people, and that this act of being "caught up" to the throne is a reference to the rapture of the church. The traditional interpretation states this reference to the child being caught up to God's throne (Rev. 12:5) is a reference to Christ's ascension. We explore how this traditional understanding fails to explain how Christ's ascension can, in any way, be depicted as a rescue from Satan.
