Sessions from the 2011 Urban Ministry Conference: All the Lonely People: Urban Alienation and the Gospel of Community In spite of an ever-increasing population, cities are proving to be very lonely places. Yet God is saving a people to live as a community of worship and love. The gospel message of reconciliation offers deliverance from the alienation that plagues our city. But how do we bring a gospel of community to a culture of individualism?
Eric Mason, co-founder and lead pastor of Epiphany Fellowship; Jonathan Olsen, pastor of Grace and Peace Community Church; and Paul Tripp, Tenth's minister to Center City, will explore the topic of community and how the gospel is a message of inclusion and reconciliation.
Workshops led by Bethany Christian Services and Tenth staff: David Apple, Director of Mercy Ministries, Jonny McGreevy, Director of Discipleship, and Robert Polen, Director of City Outreach will offer practical advice for developing community and welcoming individuals into the warmth and fellowship of the family of God. _________________________________________
