“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty” (I Corinthians 1:27).
In looking at I Corinthians 1:26-29, we observe first God’s Method. We look at a number of examples in both the Old and New Testaments which confirm that God uses weak things. Next we consider God’s Purpose. God’s purpose is to bring glory to His name and allow no place for man to exalt himself. Finally we see God’s Blessing. Although we are weak in ourselves we are enabled by Him to do what needs to be done to His glory.
