Politically Incorrect Titus Part 1: Don’t Pervert The Message! I Text: Old Covenant : Deuteronomy 7:7-11 New Covenant: Titus 1:1-3 (1Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; 3But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;) II Doctrine: Contrary to Postmodern Christian teaching, Paul explains that God elected to save us. We are not partially depraved people who chose God. Before the work of the Holy Ghost begins in our hearts we are completely depraved. God loved us why we were spiritually dead and without condition revived us. This was plan was devised before the world began. We do not elect and save God. Moreover the Lord saved us to serve him in righteousness. We are not saved to be lawless. We must all declare God’s Word honestly, even when it offends people. The foolishness of preaching is how God chose to call out believers from the world. III Reasons: 1) Do children come from their Mother’s womb because they made a choice to be born? (John 1:12,13) 2) Would God rescue us from the kingdom of darkness and not expect our conduct to change ? (1 John 2:3-6) 3) Did the Prophets or the Apostles ever change the message of the Gospel to suit the age in which they lived? (Ezekiel 2:1-7; Jeremiah 1:4-10)
