What does the life of one in whom the Spirit dwells, who is found in union with Christ, look like when it comes to the poles of walking in step with the Spirit or surrendering to the carnal passions of the flesh. Sanctification is best described as that ongoing work wherein Christ, by the Spirit causes us to will and to do what is good and pleasing to Him, in accordance with the law given to instruct and guide, and it is growing in a desire to and ability to do what is good and pleasing to Him. There is security in union with Christ, but there cannot be neglect of that glorious and sacred duty that becomes ours when have been rescued and given new life, for you have been saved from something and saved to something. What then have you been saved to? To a life of peace and righteousness, a life of pleasing God and walking in the Spirit. Let us walk then in the union given us freely by God's grace.
