In Colossians 1:9-14 Paul and Timothy pray that the Colossians would be filled with the knowledge of God's will so that their walks would be worthy of and please God by exhibiting three characteristics. The believer whose walk pleases God will exhibit the characteristics of: continuous growth ... bearing fruit and gaining knowledge; complete strengthening ... the standard - God's might, and the goal - patient endurance; and cheerful thanksgiving ... because we have been qualified for the inheritance of the saints, because we have been rescued from darkness, and because we have been transferred to the kingdom of Christ.
