1. God's promise is a testament which even amongst men is firm and to which nothing can be added or subtracted (v. 15). 2. God's promise is ultimately with Christ (Seed), i.e. with God Himself and cannot be annulled (v. 16, 17). 3. God's promise is an inheritance (testament) which cannot be earned (law-keeping) (v. 18). 4. Then what purpose is the law? A. To show transgressions till the promised Seed come (v. 19) B. It was temporary, brought by angels and a mediator (v. 20) 5. Mediator not of one, but God is one? (v. 20)
