The title, Of Hedges and Highways, came from Proverbs 15:19 “The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, But the path of the upright is a highway.” This is not a comprehensive, exhaustive message on laziness versus uprightness. The objective is to 1) provide motivation to not be lazy, 2) review some of the consequences of laziness versus uprightness and 3) give some initial helps for how to overcome laziness and walk in the path of uprightness. This verse and this message is about the consequence of taking so-called “shortcuts” in life rather than staying on the well-marked, biblical path laid out in the Scriptures, as well as how to stay on the right path. |
