Today, we will celebrate “Mother’s Day” by looking at a woman who enters the pages of Scripture in 1 Samuel 1-2. Her name is Hannah and it means “grace”. Her story reveals to us the tragedy of the fall, but we learn much about her and her God through her struggle and pain. We see the beauty of a woman’s heart who fears the LORD. Proverbs 31:30 says, “Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.” Let us praise God for the godly women like Hannah who are in our lives, pray for those who live like the devil’s daughters, and raise up a generation of daughters to see their value and identity from God’s perspective. Today’s message will be entitled, Hannah’s Hope. We will consider 1) Hannah’s Home 2) Hannah’s Heartache and 3) Hannah’s Hymn. This story stretches from the lowest valley of sorrow to the highest summit of praise.
