In these verses there are three remarkable things about the wondrous answer to Daniel's prayer: 1) It came while he was yet praying; 2) It came after earnest prayer; and 3) It came following a prayer characterized by deep humiliation and self-abasement. Aside from the content of the revelation regarding the 70 weeks (vs. 24-27), God answered his servant by giving to him wisdom and understanding and by telling him that he was greatly loved of God. The answer shows how wonderfully God answers prayer and how these blessings can be ours.
