Like many portions of Scripture, good works has been twisted and perverted in how they are used. In fact, here at Providence Church, we use extreme caution when discussing works because of our understanding of what the Word of God teaches about grace in regards to salvation. Having said this, Pastor Simpson concluded our study of 1 Timothy 3:1 by teaching on the last two words - 'good works'. The Bible defines what works a believer ought to be involved in. Regardless, works, including what is commonly known as a 'prayer of salvation', have no place relating to salvation! May the Lord bless all of our understanding regarding works and the good works we should be involved in.
