Jesus told many stories and in some cases, the stories were told so that people would not understand. God's laws do not change and when He says to do something it means to do it. Likewise, when God tells not to do something, we should not do it. The King in this passage is God the Father and the Son is Jesus. The King invited people and they refused. The servants who were killed were the prophets of God that were killed and rejected. There are times when we would like to do things that we should not do. We have to learn to say no to ourselves. We are all, by nature, sinners. If we are going to be servants of the King, we will endure hostility. The hostility will not last and judgement is coming. The King provided wedding garments for all the guests so the one who was not dressed for the wedding made the King angry and was thrown out in the darkness. We must put on the Lord Jesus Christ. The only way that we can be part of the celebration with the King is through His Son, Jesus.
