The Gap Theory puts millions if not billions of years in between Genesis chapter one and two. But at the end of Day six God said His creation was “very good”. If the creation was “very good”, why does the geologic column have death disease and suffering all taking place before the fall of Adam. It seems the Gap Theory has a major problem here. Romans 5:12 says that sin brought death into the world, but sin didn't happen until after day six. We have fossils that clearly show that animals had cancer. How can God possibly say it was “very good”? Must we try to make the Bible say something it clearly does not? Must we try to stuff man's current theories into our interpretation of the Bible? Perhaps this death disease and suffering happened after day six. Today were going to talk about the Gap Theory. Is there a gap between the first and second day of creation? Can we reconcile this view with the Bible and science? If Adam was born on day six and died after day seven, wouldn't that make him millions of years old? Is there a difference between how the Bible describes the beginning of the Earth verses what evolution teaches? How old is the Earth according to the Bible? Does the Bible say how old the Earth is? Should we trust the Bible or man's interpretation of science? Can we reconcile the two views? Join us today and learn how to make a biblical defense of the age of the Earth.
