At the beginning of his letter to the Ephesians, Paul cannot contain himself– he is so full of joy and praise to God he forgets to breathe (in the original Greek Ephesians 1:3-14 is all one long sentence). What is it that excites Paul so much? We have been blessed in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
As we are reminded of these glorious blessings and the lavish grace of God, may we too burst with praise and thanks to him. And if we find we no longer get excited about much, may the Father open the eyes of our hearts afresh and restore to us the joy of our salvation.
