Through a series of twenty-one future, sequential judgments—seven Seal Judgments, seven Trumpet Judgments, and seven Bowl Judgments—the book of Revelation describes the just release of the wrath of Jesus Christ on a stubbornly rebellious world. The first four Seal Judgments, also known as the four horsemen of the apocalypse, will unleash political domination, global warfare, severe famine, and widespread death on the earth. The fifth and sixth Seal Judgments highlight two different groups of people. The first group consists of those who become followers of the Lamb and consequently die as martyrs. The second group consists of those who persistently reject the Lamb and try to hide from His wrath. These two judgments remind us that it’s better to suffer as a believer than to face God’s wrath as an unbeliever.
