"Our Eternal Apprehension – v13c" – stands with respect to Paul's surmising Words "…we would be made 'heirs' according to the hope of eternal life". These words serve as words of consolation. The ultimate cause for our salvation, our apprehension of ultimate, glorified state of the Church's consummation. Therefore, our heirship is viewed first, as 'Soteriological'. It is prefaced in God's justifying grace (v7) and His privilege extended to the undeserving sinners, who are "made heirs" – v7. Our heirship is viewed secondly, as Eschatological – "according to the hope of eternal life" – v7 c.f. I Peter. 1v3 – 4. Thus, the conclusion; heirship is eternally guaranteed, yet to be fully realized, wrapped in the glorious inheritance and immortality – I Cor. 15v50 – 57 c.f. I John. 3v2 – 3. Charles Wesley lyrics are succinct in stating that: "Finish, then thy new creation; pure and spotless let us be; Let us see thy great salvation perfectly restored in thee. Changed from glory and unto glory, till in heaven we take our place. Till we cast our crowns before thee, lost in wonder, love and praise".
