Fully expecting to find a dead body and the stench of decaying flesh, the women were surprised to find a scene that they were completely not expecting. The air was filled with a sense of glory and fear as they ran from the angel who now occupied the tomb where Jesus had once been laid. This same Jesus has risen to immeasurable glory, from where He now owns all authority in heaven and earth. Submission to His kind, wonderful rule is the only desirable and logical choice. Yes, sadly, there are millions who will persist in rebellion against the lovely risen Christ to their own eternal ruin. This same Jesus who came as an embryo in a human mother's womb, who grew as a boy at Joseph's table, who revealed God to us through His life, who agonised in the garden, who suffered on the cross, now sits as judge of the living and the dead. To persist in being this Judge's enemy after His overwhelming provision for you is the most extreme display of folly. This sermon is a strong final appeal to those who will persist in their rebellion against Christ until they force Him to remove them from His presence to bless for all eternity. Consumed by His presence to punish, you will writhe in agony and angry rebellion throughout the aeons of eternity, while the mighty angels in glory join in a chorus of praise with every heavenly being. God has done what is overwhelmingly right and glorious. I beg you to stop and consider the glorious risen Christ.
