A Communist A Socialist and a Democrat walk into a bar. Stop me if you already heard this joke. I heard Dick Chaney say that we are actually voting for a Communist, a Socialist and a Democrat running as a Republican. I thought to myself this sounds like a bad joke, and then I realized that this was what was passing for the best hope for America today. Then I heard the old line about having to vote for the lesser of two evils. Charles H.Spurgeon said "Let us whenever we shall have the opportunity of using the right of voting, use it as in the sight of Almighty God, knowing that for everything we shall be brought into account, and for that amongst the rest, seeing that we are entrusted with it." He believed we should vote as if God were standing there watching us, and He is.
Let’s face it, there is not a lot that you and I can do in the political arena and in this world to foster true change. But we can stand on God’s Word and refuse to vote for the lesser of two evils and instead demand that a Godly man represents us. Only then can we truly see a change in the direction of our nation. As Andrew Rappaport has often said, “God exist and He has spoken.” We know what God would have us do, it’s written down for us and we need to trust Him not political compromise for the greater good. But this requires that we begin right here in the house of The Lord. Let's see if God say's anything about His expectations about how His people should choose their leaders. Should Christians vote for the "lesser of two evils?" Are we voting for "Pastor-in-Chief?" How much do we need to compromise to keep a "seat at the table?" Listen to what God say's about these issues.
