Acts 4:32-5:11 – Generosity & Lying to the Holy Spirit – Sermon Outline
Intro: We see the church continuing in love and good works, according to the Apostle's doctrine.
Need: Giving to the Lord and His Church is a sure sign of the Spirit's fruit/work in our lives, when we give gladly and honestly. A sure sign of sin and Satan's scheming is when others give as a showy pretense, or give less than they say, or are dishonest in some other way. Give to the Lord gladly, and honestly.
Theme: The Lord blesses honest giving but despises & punishes deceptive giving.
1. The Spirit-filled multitude of believers are united and give their possessions as need arises (4:32-37). 2. The Satan-filled Ananias and Sapphira lie to the Holy Spirit about their giving and are struck down (5:1-11).
