There is one thing to come to saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, but it is another thing to have full assurance of faith. This assurance is a deepening and a strengthening of faith in Christ. For some believers, it can take time and periods of spiritual challenges before they learn to rest in Jesus, and obtain assurance of faith. So much so, that the Westminster Confession of Faith spent the whole of chapter 18 of the confession on this very topic - Of the Assurance of Grace and Salvation. The Apostle Peter touches upon this in the first chapter of his second epistle:
1. The Wherefore
2. The Brethren together
3. The Better Way
4. The Due Diligence
5. The Assurance Given
6. The Immovability Promised
