Palm Sunday reminds us that Jesus didn’t come to draw a large crowd. Or to be admired. Or to be studied. He came to gather His own. Jesus came to “... gather together in one the children of God who were scattered abroad.” (John 11:52 – NKJV). The man who uttered those words – the Jewish high priest, Caiaphas – had no idea just how prophetic he was. God used Caiaphas’ unwitting proclamation to make clear His intent to gather His people through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. Through Jesus, God is gathering those whom sin has scattered from Himself, and from one another. And, one day, all who have been gathered will be united, under one King, Jesus.
