II. THANK YOU AND WE PRAY FOR YOU: First responders and caregivers: doctors, nurses, EMTs, fireman, policeman and so many others on the frontlines. We pray for those out of work living in these fearful times with businesses shuttered or with less hours. We pray for church members that can no longer attend church; may we never take attending church for granted again. Help us to love one another and show that love. III. WHAT WE KNOW • This is what we know: • The Chinese government did not acknowledge the coronavirus until 12/31/19 although the first case can be traced back to 11/17/19 (45 precious days). The Chinese government covered up the outbreak by reprimanded doctors to remain silent and conspiratorially now claiming that it began with the U.S Army. • The first recorded case of COVID-19 in the U.S. was in Snohomish County, WA on 1/19/20 from someone who returned from Wuhan, China • President Trump barred foreigners from China from entering the U.S. starting 1/31/20. • For this move, Biden called Trump xenophobic and the media said he overreacted. We now know that this action was the single most important move that bought America valuable time and protection. • Now…. • COVID-19 is highly contagious, sometimes requiring hospitalization. • There is no quick fix for our current dilemma. • Many pandemics start when humans consume other species of food that were hosts to viruses. • In the 14th century, 1/3 of Europe was wiped out by the plague. • In 1917-1918, more than 100 million worldwide died from the Spanish Flu. • With jet travel, a virus can spread across the globe in mere hours. • The projections coming from a non-peer reviewed study published by the COVI
