Continuation of "The Sermon on The Mount" -- Casting Pearls Over Swine - Pastor Jim Shelton.
Matthew 7:6 - Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
We should not be so quick to forget the holiness of God. So many Christians are complacent with giving up on the holiness of God to gain the favor of the world. This world does not stand for God or agree with God or His ways. To be Holy means to take a righteous stand.
1. Presentation that Jesus gave for this Truth -- Jesus uses a very different illustration to get His point of taking a stand for holiness. It shows how we should view, respect, and honor the holiness of God. Especially when it comes to God's Word. How is your view on God's Word or His holiness? Are you willing to give up God's holiness to gain the favor of this wicked world? The pearl is regarded a precious stone that holds a lot of value and pure. Most people guard the things that they view as valuable. The believer must guard those things that God has given us, like His Word. Jesus uses dogs and swine on purpose, cause they were regarded as the most unclean animals in the Bible. 2. The Danger of Casting Holy Things to Those That Do Not Hold No Regard For Them -- As Christians, we are to be vigilant and observant to where we spend our time with. There are those that show interest but have more evil intentions on those things we hold as holy. We should not be willing to through our testimony down the tube to gain favor with the those that are lost.
