An exposition of the four verses informed for the "Believers' Present Privileges in Christ". In Paul's submission, he was encouraged at the Colossian response of love and tenacious faith reported of, to him by Epaphras. However, in the midst of encouragement, the apostle Paul was concerned over the false teachings and the measure of damage falsehood potentially had inflicted upon the congregation (2v4 – 23). Paul reminds us that our justified position needs to be in synch with our practice of Christianity. Paul writes to warn believers and but also to point out to them things that are of eternal value, encouraging them to ceaselessly keep seeking (3v1) and keep setting their minds on these things (3v2). The exhortation is that, believers are to take responsibility and think with heavenly thoughts; because the believers are united with Christ. And when Christ shall appear, they too with Christ, shall appear at the appointed time (3v4). Christ is presently seated and reigning in power and might, in the heavenlies. Christ is interceding and mediating still. Christ remains yet, an unceasing resource (3v1), from whom strength, life and vitality flows and can be derived. Paul spurred them and spurs every present Christians to take responsibility, and ensure we align our conducts be in proposition to our status, our union with Christ.
