Acts 20:13-38 – Ministry: Fulfilled Yet Overflowing – Sermon Outline Intro: Paul's ministry completion in Ephesus reflects the completion of Christ's ministry on earth, and then as Christ poured out His Spirit from heaven, Paul departs the Ephesian elders commending them to God, Christ, and His Spirit given to them from heaven to continue their ministry now that Paul is gone. Need: Scripture is full of promises, fulfillment of the promises, which in turn point to a greater and final fulfillment, which will only come and be fully realized a Christ's return, but has begun at Christ's 1st coming. Theme: Paul fulfills his ministry in Ephesus and exhorts the Ephesian Elders to fulfill their ministry.
1. The importance of Pentecost for Paul's future ministry and fulfilled ministry in Ephesus (13-16) 2. Paul tells the Ephesian Elders his ministry of declaring God's full word to them is fulfilled. (17-27) 3. Paul exhorts and prays for the Elders to be vigilant shepherds by God's word and grace. (28-38)
