The Lord doubled down on His determination to judge Judah in the Captivity. Jeremiah appealed to the Lord to relent (14:21, 22). The Lord responded by telling the prophet that Moses and Samuel could not intercede for the people. Jeremiah took his eyes off the Lord and began to complain about his suffering and persecution. The Lord graciously encouraged the prophet to repent and trust in Him. He would be to him a sure refuge.
