In this week's text, the LORD orchestrates an amazing sequence of events to demonstrate Saul is King both privately (with Samuel) and publicly before the people. The theological term for God's working out His great purposes through seemingly ordinary events is providence.
The LORD is also orchestrating our lives through His providence. We also need revelation from God so that we can rightly interpret and respond to the events He brings into our lives. Saul had Samuel to explain what God was doing. We have the Scriptures.
